Seams New Kids Sale Consignor Packet Information

HOW
TO PROPERLY TAG YOUR ITEMS
We are working on getting a barcoded tagging system in place, but until we announce it, you can continue to work on the handwritten tags. The system that we use will be able to accept both computerized tags and handwritten tags (so previously consigned items will still be accepted).
Hand
Written Tags:
Place a hole in the top-center of your
price card. You may use a 3x5 white
index card, blank business cards, or cut a 3x5 index card in half for your price
cards. Each card needs to include
the following: price, account #, description, and numerical size. Try
to avoid using S, M, & L, except for junior clothing.
If the tag reads a letter
rather than a size, try to guess its equivalent numerical size.
(i.e. Small is usually 4/5). If
your item states 2T on the tag, but fits small, then mark on the card under
description item fits like an 18M. This
way it will be placed with the best appropriate size.
√
All price cards must be written in ink or computer generated.
√ Choose blue or black ink for items that can be reduced in price. Our 50% off day will be Sunday, March 10th. There will be no 25% off day due to the shortened length in the sale.
√ Choose
red ink for items that you wish to
remain full price on Sunday March 10th..
These items in red will NOT be reduced at all.
√ All prices should be on the dollar or half dollar (i.e. $3.00 or $3.50) and written in both corners of the card. Do not mark anything below $0.50. (Please note that we have lowered the minimum) If you would like to group similar items, feel free to do so.
√ Pricing your clothes- Start with what you would pay
for the item at a retail store, then take 1/3 - 1/4 of the original price.
If the item is in good condition or a name brand you can ask a little
more. We also have a pricing guidelines
link on the top of this page.
√ Description-
The more details you include, the better it will sell.
Include the brand name and brief description of the item.
Please mark in the description “2-piece” for two-piece outfits or 2
shirts. This helps us match loose
clothing with tags. Place the outfit
on 2 separate hangers, then rubber band the hangers together. We
have proven time and time again that clothes sell better when hung...so please
try to stay away from putting clothing items (other than socks, tights, hair
accessories, etc) into baggies.
√
Attach
each price card by using a safety pin or tagging gun, do not use straight pins.
Attach the index card onto the garment through the hole at the top of
each price card, as shown above.
√
We do not accept the following items: Used underwear,
stuffed animals unless battery operated, stained or damaged
clothing, and recalled items. We
will
not be selling Maternity clothing this sale either.
√
Note: Please
recheck all price cards for accuracy to ensure proper credit.
We are not held responsible for improperly prepared items.
2.
ITEM
PREPARATION
We are limiting items to 250 clothing items/consignor. If you want to enter more than 250 clothing items, we ask that you please come to help us with initial setup (Wed. 7 or 8 am) or breakdown. Sorry, there will be no re-stocking this sale.
√
Select
your very best. Only tag those items
that are new or in gently used condition. We
will not sell anything that looks extremely worn, stained or damaged.
Clothing needs to be freshly cleaned, as wrinkle free as possible, and
pleasant smelling. The better your
clothes look and smell, the better they will sell.
We do inspect the items before they are put out on the floor, so please try to
check your items closely.
√
Please have all hangers facing the same direction, with
the open end facing left like a question mark (as shown above).
If you are in need of hangers, please contact us and we can get some to you.
√
Price cards need to be safety pinned to the item's
left shoulder area. This will be on
your right
when you are looking at the item.
√
Masking
tape can be used to attach tags to items when safety pins are not an option
(i.e. books, toys, shoes, etc).
√
Zip lock bags can be used to secure small or multiple
items. Place the price tag on the
inside of the zip lock bag and zip lock it shut.
Tape over the seal is always a good idea too to keep little hands out.
√ Shoes need to be tied together with the laces or placed in a zip lock bag. The price card can be taped securely to the bottom of the shoe, safety pinned through the laces, or placed inside the zip lock bag. Unfortunately, due to our space restrictions, we are going to have to limit everyone to 10 pair of shoes.
√ If you are consigning pants that are larger than a
size
8, please fold them over the hanger to prevent them from dragging on the ground.
√
Please be sure DVDs, CD’s, computer games,
are in their correct cases and that all games and puzzles include all of their
pieces. It is very frustrating for people to waste their money on games with
missing pieces.
√ All
consigned items must be clean and work properly.
√ Items will sell better if you remember to: snap all
snaps, button
all buttons, zip up zippers and tie bows.
√ Matching
accessories should be secured to the outfit with safety pins (i.e. hats, ties,
bows, bibs, etc).
√ We will be inspecting all items at drop-off, and we reserve the right to reject any item due to being out-of-date, unclean, stained or ripped. The unaccepted items will be returned to the consignor at time of drop off. If the consignor chooses not to stay for drop off, the rejected items will be donated to charity. Please allow this added time to your drop off appointment. **Please do not be embarassed or discouraged if you have items that are rejected, the lights at the sale often show more than our house lights reveal.

SELLER
CHECK-IN
√
Clothing should be sorted by gender, then
size, before check in. This really
will help the inspection process to move more smoothly. Please no
browsing during drop-offs.
√
We
do not keep an inventory list of your items.
You are welcome to do this on your own.
